I don’t think it’s rocks and bullets.
As already stated, and I created a thread on this the other day, Basij volunteers are patrolling the strait in fishing boats. Yes, they are being hit with bullets. And potentially RPGs by the sound of it.

It's why the vast majority of ships hit have been using transponders, it tells you where everyone is located. Same as aircrafty squawking.

Yes. Then the missiles fire in the general direction. Terminal guidance is autonomous from the missile.
