Two great tidbits from the Washington Post's list of "winners and losers" re. the Tax Bill

Rich kids. The GOP tax bills make it a lot easier for wealthy parents to pass property and money to their kids. Under current law, up to $5.5 million can be passed down tax-free. After that, there's a 40 percent tax, known as the "estate tax" (or the "death tax" by critics). The House bill eliminates the estate tax entirely. The Senate bill allows rich parents to pass up to $11 million onto their heirs tax free.
How dare they pass their property down?!!! It's scary the entitlement the left feels towards the property of others

The poor.
The Senate bill cuts tax rates across all income levels, but 44 percent of Americans don't pay any federal income tax, so it doesn't help them. Some senators -- notably Marco Rubio (R-Fl.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) -- pushed to give more money back to lower-income families in the form of refundable tax credits. Rubio and Lee wanted to make a lot of the Child Tax Credit refundable. But that didn't happen, meaning the poor won't get much benefit from the bill. If anything, they might lose a lot -- some won't be able to afford health insurance anymore and some are likely to lose other government benefits as Republicans look for ways to trim the federal budget in the coming months.
a.) How can you lose if you are not already paying into the system? The biggest loser from this tidbit is that nearly of the country is paying nothing in taxes.
b.) How can the left feign outrage at Romney's 47% remarks when they know it is true that nearly half of the country does not have skin in the game?
c.) Are they really advocating that the poor need more free shite all the while arguing that this bill unfairly raises the debt?

Because the left see federal taxes as another welfare without actually passing additional welfare legislation. How else can they argue for giving people more money from a pool they haven’t paid into?

Yeah, I'm reading this as they won't have their taxes reduced because they pay no taxes. It will be just the free shite they receive from said government that will be trimmed.
I just hate ironic leeches.

The answer to c is yes but you were doing that lawyer thing where they ask questions they know the answer to.

We should raise taxes on the poor.

Hey, if you want less of something, tax it.

Technically they pay in but their return on investment is ridiculous. Lets say their total payin is $2k they will get back at least 8k.

Exhibit A of why our tax code is fricked up and we need a flat tax with no deductions.
How the frick should you get an $8k "refund" when you only paid in a tenth of that?
This country has too many takers.

It happens all the time. I see welfare queens with nothing more than a part time job for a couple months and a bunch of kids of welfare, then at the end of the year she gets her taxes back and her income at the end of the year is the same as a guy working his arse off every week for $10.00 an hour. It is a totally bullshite system.

It's called the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). It's basically a form of welfare that gives a tax credit to qualified low income earners, depending on how little they earned and how many dependents they have.
So, a single mother of two kids making minimum wage would probably get about 5-6k back and that's after almost all of her payroll taxes have been nullified by standard exemptions and deductions that everyone is entitled to claim. So, yeah, she "makes money" by paying taxes.
That's why poor people RUSH to file their taxes and eagerly wait by the mailbox.
I don't have a problem with it per se. We are by far the richest country in the world and we are not going to let kids starve or people die in the streets. Plus they have to work to get it.
But people need to understand that benefits like this (including food stamps, obamacare subsidies, etc) are all a form of corporate welfare that enable businesses to hoard profits while passing the basic costs of employee living onto the government/taxpayers.

You see they had what's called landed aristocracy in Britain that the Founding Fathers didn't much care for.

I know it sounds outrageous but Dim/Progs believe taxes are the same thing as charitable contributions, crazy ain't it?
