What were your feelings about Jim Crow Laws?

They needed to be changed and were, due to popular support.

I imagine it would be an interesting world if I as a citizen got to decide which laws should be followed, and not.

So it was honorable to abide by Jim Crow laws?

What about Apartheid?

Are you a critic of the Underground Railroad?

You do get to decide. By vote, by protest, etc.

Handful? Or most?

Your counter argument holds no water either.

It's honorable to act as a law abiding citizen. Are you going to tell me to stop paying taxes everytime I think the fedgov does something unjust too? Is it honorable to support millions dead overseas to support multinational corps?

What about Apartheid?

Also needed to be changed due to popular support, though admittedly South Africa is in far worse shape post Apartheid than during it.

No, it was legal to free slaves in most states in the North during and before the civil war.

My point exactly. Simply refusing to follow a law usually helps no one.

In the SOuth it was illegal?

Should Harriet Tubman be remembered as a criminal nuisance?

So the SS acted honorably?

Those that helped them acted honorably?

The NKVD were acting honorably?

Abiding by laws that cause direct harm to a marginalized race is honorable?

Just to be clear, you're comparing mass genocide to someone getting fined for sexual identity discrimination.

I generally believe people should be held to account for what they have done and the laws they have broken. Do you?

Maybe? If it means you feeding your family or not, I would.

Again, these examples are wayyyy over the top compared to the topic at hand.

The whole point of our political system to amend it when problems arise within the system.

Simply causing anarchy and chaos when you don't like a law is not helpful nor in the best interests of anyone.

Do I really need to explain this to someone who should understand that?

What a completely stupid analogy. Like, just awful...
