twitter talking point of the night: If manafort was black, he'd get 20+ years

Is Manafort a repeat offender?

If he was the brother of a Clinton campaign employee, he'd get immunity.

Just more prog nonsense bullshite.
These people should talk to the hundreds of black men who committed serious crimes in East Baton Rouge and got told to do some community service by the judge. It must be their white privilege, right?
I don't agree with letting people who commit serious crimes go right back to the streets, but to act like minorities just get railroaded during sentencing is absurd.

If he was a woman, he'd have gotten a lighter sentence.

If he were black it would have never made the news.

And if Trudy White was the judge he'd get a week of probation.

I've gotten off of twitter and don't watch any news - period. they only news I get is an occasional glance at drudge and here. Life is so much better away from the drama. It's all bs anyway.

Ridiculous. If he was a black politician, or a democratic politician in general, he could just resign with no penalty and NO ONE would ever speak of it again.

And if his last name was Clinton he wouldn't have even been indicted.

Not a talking point. Judge Ellis is an arch-conservative appointed by Reagan. Ellis showed animosity to the case from the beginning.
Ellis is the same judge who sentenced Richard Jefferson, a black congressman from Louisiana, to 13 years for bribery. That's the longest sentence that a U.S. congressman has ever received.

19-24 years is utterly ridiculous for the crimes committed by manafort.
4 years, imo, is highly appropriate.

I wonder what this fool will say when Jussie Smollett's felony charge is reduced to a misdemeanor?

But, he gets sentenced again in a week or two. The next judge isn't a Reagan judge. Maximum sentence 10 years. Big deal is whether she sentences him to serve the two sentences consecutively or concurrently.

^^^ @realism.
Reality. vvv

Manafort may have gotten off easy with four years, but Ellis threw the book at Jefferson. In 2009 Ellis sentenced Jefferson to 13 years, the longest sentence of any Congressman to that date.
The Judge Who Let Manafort Off Easy With 47 Months Is An Arch-Conservative

How silly. Ain't no black people in the Ukraine.

That Forbes article is trash. It’s more than a little irresponsible for a publication to allow a writer to make scurrilous implications over a judge giving a lenient sentence on what doesn’t even qualify as paper thin evidence. The judge is conservative and once sentenced a politician to 13 years. And? Seriously?

What’s trash is this judge talking about Manaforts “otherwise blameless life.”
