Rules for thee, not for me stuff.
I must respectfully disagree.
Advocating for prayer/religion in public spaces yet expecting that expression to always be something the individual approves of requires a suspension of reason too profound to reflect anything but a lack of intellect to begin with.
I was ridiculed on another thread reporting that Texas has approved a Christian curriculum for elementary age children because I pointed out the very obvious fact that there is no such thing as a public religious curriculum that everyone in even a mildly diverse community will agree with.
And these people always act surprised by this sort of thing despite the fact that some of us tell them what's going to happen
Every.
Single.
Time.
They whine to open the door and set the table for any kook to take advantage of.
It's just not difficult reasoning.

Correct. It’s an utterly retarded conspiracy theory

Because they only think the rules should apply to their religion (or, sometimes, a specific sect or belief within that religion).
They don't see it as "opening the door" for anything else, b/c they expect special treatment and this only applying to their x.

this is what you get when you want to have religion at government hearings
the non religious conservatives tried to tell people but they don't listen

I understand freedom of religion......
you actually don't
SCOTUS ruling: if a government entity starts with a prayer it is OBLIGATED to allow people of ANY faith at all the chance to lead the prayer if they submit a request to do so.
Enter the Church of Satan! Which will gladly help you find the right forms and so on to request to lead the board in a prayer to Satan.
It's amazing how many institutions suddenly decide that opening with a prayer isn't really all that important when the choice is between letting a Satanist lead the prayer every now and then or not having a prayer at all.
Likewise if a government entity displays Christian religious symbols on government land it must also allow people of ANY religion to donate symbols to be displayed as well.
And the Church of Satan has a big statue of Baphomet they cart around to put up... and again it's amazing how many city governments suddenly decide that having a cross or the 10 commandments or whatever Christian symbol they love is not so important when the choice is between having that and a statue of a demon or not having either.
When christian's who happen to be in government allow Christian symbols to be displayed on tax payer funded govt property, they get SO MAD when that Baphomet is rolled in along side of it. They say they are for "freedom of religion" but what they really mean is freedom of THEIR religion.
Bottom line: keep govt and religion separate and you wont have to hear from the satanic church anymore

That should not be tolerated. It's an offense against God and judgement will continue against our nation while we continue to allow or even promote such things.

Christians, Muslims, Satanists deserve each other.

so keep believing in your god and keep him out of government city council meetings.
or
the satanists will also have equal chance to talk about their god

hopefully the prayers and worship of Christians in Tulsa can overcome what this silly broad is invoking at the city council meeting.

When nations reject Christ as King, it should not expect His blessing.

But no, our nation should definitely not allow Satanists to "pray" in that context.

Go south 60 miles and try that crap in my part of rural Oklahoma

You do know that “witches “ were some of the earliest healers & practitioners of medicine. There concoctions of natural remedies are the basis of today’s medicine. Not all spells were used as evil intent but rather for betterment nor were they aware of the God or satan but gave credence to nature.

So only the people who follow your religion can use the govt square to pray
Is that right

Yeah, I know.
I get it. I understand what you're saying.
But that's literally stupid of them.
That's why I was replying to the other thread. Because you won't even see all Christians agreeing on that curriculum, much less Christians vs atheists.
Thinking that it's going to work out exactly like they want it is literally as stupid as thinking that someone can read their minds and being upset when it turns out they can't.

I am religious and I try to tell them.
In fact, if I wasn't religious, I wouldn't care.
I don't want my kid listening to a Muslim prayer at school or a Satanist prayer at a football game or a Mormon prayer in the public square.
Or a Catholic prayer to a saint or Mary, for that matter.
If I didn't have a belief that is different from all of those, it wouldn't bother me at all. But I don't want my kids exposed to religious stuff that is contrary to what we believe.
I can't figure out why anybody else would either.

It’s all or nothing. Nothing works best. Keep government secular and non religious.
Unless you want Muslim teachers influencing your children interjecting their personal beliefs etc
