Apparently high ranking officials aren't supposed to use personal cell phones ans whatnot. I'm sure you all appreciate the absolute irony and hypocrisy. But Leftists can't understand either so I'll just drop this link here.

If there is a problem he should just take a hammer to them.

This should be good after 8 years of blowing off any concerns about Obama's blackberry.

Trump’s use of private cellphone

That’s not exactly what the article says. The issue isn’t that he’s using some private, Verizon Wireless special, it’s the fact that he’s using a cellphone at all—government issued or otherwise—to communicate with other world leaders.
quote:

The notion of world leaders calling each other up via cellphone may seem unremarkable in the modern, mobile world. But in the diplomatic arena, where leader-to-leader calls are highly orchestrated affairs, it is another notable breach of protocol for a president who has expressed distrust of official channels. The formalities and discipline of diplomacy have been a rough fit for Trump — who, before taking office, was long easily accessible by cellphone and viewed himself as freewheeling, impulsive dealmaker.

Presidents generally place calls on one of several secure phone lines, including those in the White House Situation Room, the Oval Office or the presidential limousine. Even if Trump uses his government-issued cellphone, his calls are vulnerable to eavesdropping, particularly from foreign governments, national security experts say.

Trump is being surveilled like the Barksdales from The Wire, so he needs a burner phone.

I believe he did use the secure phone lines in the Oval Office during the beginning of his presidency. Wonder what happened? Oh that's right, his calls to the president of Mexico and the PM of Australia were immediately leaked.

What's worse, being listened in on by a foreign govt or having the transcript of your entire call published in the NY Times?

That the person who wrote the headline for the article chose his/her words poorly.

like an employee is afraid that using a company-provided phone or computer might allow employers to make sure he isn't spending his time and their dime on surfing porn or dialing 1-900 sex numbers??

It's not like this guy actually WORKS for anyone who put him in office, and who might want to make sure their own best interests aren't being shoved behind his own, while they pay the bill for it. Having ANY issues with this with the way republicans freaked out over Clinton's personal computers/servers (which I also disapproved of) is the sheer epitome of hypocrisy...

Show me where you said Clinton should be in jail for the private server and destruction of evidence
