Are you against foreign trade?
Tariffs will make you dependent on the government. They are simply a subsidy to big corporations.
Without this subsidy, paid by you and I, these industries wouldnt be making higher profits and expanding industry.

This is the type of person yalls tariffs prop up.
You think millions of americans are all of the sudden going to become intelligent and/or motivated enough to perform the jobs you describe?
You can't be that stupid.

Don't care. Libs' feelings hurt. That's good enough for me.

Adapt or die out.
Saving people who were too lazy to save themselves are how we got this bloated govt full of welfare.
How do you think this country operated when it was "great?"

I agree 100%, but you have to realize that those of us who think like that are few and far between. It will never happen like that. You need to think about another plan of action.

sigh...... Sounds like increased taxes and market manipulation to me. I could be down with tariffs if they were replacing the federal income tax, but they aren't. It's double taxation and it sucks.

Now do corporate taxes.

Tariffs are blunt-forced trauma to force change in trade. It's that simple.

Wonder why he didn't put this exact strategy into play his first term.
Why would anyone invest billions of capital in US manufacturing with a 20 year payback when Trump has most 4 years of term?

Crazy to think America has to DEPEND on another country for ANYTHING that we can make or mine …
It’s like saying “we can be competitive against Alabama if they spot us three touchdowns!”

Fox is reporting that Mexico has agreed to close the border effective immediately. So threats of tariffs do work.

Where are you seeing/reading this? I just went to Fox News' website, but I see nothing.

The solar panel one is a good comparison case. The tariffs didn’t do shite. Chinese companies just started lying and shipping from countries that weren’t on the list.
In contrast, the domestic content adders are bringing solar equipment manufacturing into the US at a significant rate.
