What's the time frame Trump? 1 year? 5 years? 20 years? We don't want to be in the nation building business.

I'm guessing until they can have an election. 12-18 months?

I never wanna hear about globalism from MAGA again

It’s funny seeing people finally trying to use the term globalism like they know what it means.

This operation was anti-Globalists at its core. If you knew the term, and the sides affiliated with it, you wouldn’t have tried to even conflate the two.

Globalism has zero to do with Capitalism or Freedom

Thanks for confirming that you know it will be zero.

I don’t know that and you don’t know that.

We just took the leader of a country. That starts upheaval no matter what.

Also, the western hemisphere is ours. This has never been the definition of "interventionalist" in US policy.

What?

Don’t really see this as nation building. We didn’t destroy the whole country nor did we invade with thousands of troops. I think we maintain stability while a new leader stands up their team.

What ruined everything in Iraq was a complete dismantling of the admin portion of their government. ie if every government employee just ceased to be in their position, we would have problems at various US agencies. And I'm all for mass phaseouts of government programs, but just stopping all work right now would be lunacy. What the US should do is tell every govt employee in Ven to show up for work Monday. Let the new admin appoint heads after the election.

It's been misused for quite some time. It's kinda similar to 'racism'

You think just one person was running things? What good would it do to go in and out and watch another dictator take over. We have to weed out the drug cartels and then they can have elections to decide who should run it.

Literally the same narrative used to justify the middle east that everyone now regrets

We only "liberate" those countries that refuse to deal oil in dollars or seek independence of their banking system from the globalists. I'm sure that's just coincidence.

Preach—-I knew ppl on this board lacked integrity but the supporters got this move have gone full boot licking. Everyone here was against war and America intervention. They claimed the left were the war hawks and conquerors of land and now here we are. Daddy Trump says conquering is cool now

“We are going to run it essentially” Venezuela is now free!

This sounds like no thought was put into what comes after. How are we running a country with no presence in it? It’s still controlled by Maduros people…

The entire place went full circle in record time. Just last year the overwhelming sentiment went from no foreign aid for anyone and declaring we are not the world police to cheering the Monroe Doctrine and propping the Argentinian banking system.

Eh, it’s their oil by right. That’s the risk you play when building infrastructure in a foreign nation. They may decide their national interests outweigh your property rights.

They did business based on legal contracts within their jurisdiction. The communist then decided they were going to just steal everything. By your logic, its 100% acceptable to just seize every asset and business operated by a foreign entity.

There is a legit election that put a VP in the eyes of the population. Maduro selected a VP not elected. She sits in Moscow after fleeing to escape.

The transition team will make sure the Maduro drug clan doesn’t sneak back in. Remember, the Colombian military is on the northern border. They may see this as taking the middle man out.

They have been warned.
