There is no war. There was the apprehension of a wanted criminal, that the rest of the world overwhelmingly acknowledges wasn't the legitimate ruler of Venezuela.
The resulting change in Venezuela is technically a side benefit, in that it now frees the country up to get new leadership.
This is getting downvoted, but it's correct. And if any country questions the authority of the US to do what we did, it's really all we need to say.
All of Europe, and most of the world, state that Maduro was not the legit ruler of Venezuela. Go look at the statements being released, almost all do put that in as disclaimer. And as such, he isn't afforded the same protections and immunity from prosecution that a legitimate ruler would have.

I tend to think of “war” as an extended conflict with loss of life incurred by both sides but ok, I understand and appreciate the response.
How would you have effectively and quickly tried to deal with a character like Maduro if you were president of the U.S.?
