The entire eagles team and coaching staff was invited, less than 10 were planning on attending. Who really canceled on who???

Also, you’ve gotta be a complete ignoramus if you think the XFL will ever replace the NFL.

Here’s a little secret.

Not a single eagles player or coach ever kneeled during the national anthem during the 17-18 season.

This is simply them not wanting to visit Trump. Trump got pissed that only a dozen was going to show up so he pulled this fake patriotic bullshite.

this is an absolute garbage statement.

every single NFL player is there bc they earned it.

They are welcome to do what they want, as long as they understand there are consequences to actions, and going political can effect their brand and paycheck.

Completely understand and agree with this decision by President Trump. If you recall last year, the New England Patriots went to the White House last year. The New York Times tried absolutely anything to make it look like no one went because of a lack of support for Trump. They even compared a photo of the team visiting during Trump compared to when they visited with Obama. The Obama picture included staff and the Trump photo was just players. The NYT started saying "Look at the difference! It's a lack of support for Trump!" What a joke.

The amount of nonsense and utter slander that Trump endured during last year's visit is good enough reason not to have the event. Not to mention the Eagles were only going to bring 10 players. Why in God's name would Trump agree to this? It makes him look terrible and takes away from the significance of the event.

Let me tell you something else, Regardless of your political beliefs, being invited to the White House is an honor. The President holds the highest office in the land and he and his house should be treated with respect. Many of these players overlook this aspect and yet they are never blasted for disrespecting our president. There are some who don't even know what they are protesting for. This anthem sit/stand saga is absolutely exhausting. The NFL is a private corporation, is your boss tells you to do something, you do it.

The XFL won't even be able to compete with Alliance of American Football.

This is nothing more than trump being upset and using kneeling as an excuse not realizing the eagles never took part in kneeling during any games this season. Then Fox News simply misreported it knowing none of their viewers really give a shite if it’s a true report or not so no one knows, and even if they find out somehow they don’t care.

(Before someone melts about CNN their viewers are in the same bubble on the other side)

Maybe Trump got pissed at the owner of the team because the owner doesn't have the balls to make his employees carry on a long time tradition that should be a privilege to honor by showing up.

Personally, I think the White house should completely get out of the "sports honoring" programs altogether.wasted money on a lot of fronts.

Here’s a little secret, we are ALL Americans. Disrespecting the POTUS is disrespecting the Presidency. Disrespecting the Presidency is unAmerican. Sorry.

Put another way, if Pelosi, Harry Reid, Schumer, or Obama himself are invited to the WH, they will attend. The action of members of a sports team not attending is audacious.

Pretty much. Funny how this board tries to turn anything he does into a win whether it is or not.

I can't think of a single NFL player who I think is a lesser role model that Trump.

I agree. I'm also tired of the US National Anthem being played at sporting events. Drop that, too. A significant segment of the NFL player group of people are human garbage worth nothing and possessing an animalistic-level of human consciousness that understands neither Nobility nor Honor nor Loyalty. I do not expect such dregs to have the capacity to respect ANYTHING other then their own well-being. Why do we continue to cast pearls before such swine?

Many NFL players are, swine and human garbage. A good dog has more nobility, honor and loyalty in it than does a significant portion of the NFL players.

I don't expect human garbage to stand and respect anything higher than themselves.

Did you feel that way about the nascar drivers skipping the WH when BO was in office?

Somehow, someway, I doubt it.
