I think Trump wants Corbyn as PM. I don't know why, but he's doing everything possible to play into Labour's hands.

Trump doesn't care but he's coming across as a GIGANTIC a-hole for continuing to try and start a twitter feud with the Mayor of London. Maybe because the Mayor is Muslim, Trump thinks starting a feud with him will play well with him shrinking base.

In the meantime, Theresa May has had to distance herself from Trump and praised the mayor. They are 3 days out of an election and anti Trump backlash could propel the Labour Party. There was zero upside, it's just Trump making this about him.
