DeSantis personally studied covid in great depth and based his policies on actual knowledge shorn of the BS.
Unlike the idiot Cuomo in NY, DeSantis used the limited resources early in the pandemic to isolate covid from nursing homes where it was most deadly.

Can you link to him criticizing DeSantis's handling in Florida specifically? I'm asking in real time.
I don't remember that AT ALL, but maybe I missed something. My recollection was, with Trump being a Florida resident and all, that he was pretty much on the same page with DeSantis wrt what was going on in Florida the whole time.

I was living in Florida at the time and drove home from New England while these checkpoints were set up. The extent of these checkpoints was pretty much this:
Officer: "Where are you coming from and where are you going?"
Me: "I'm coming from Connecticut and heading home."
Officer: "Alright, drive safe."
End of checkpoint. The entire interaction lasted less than a minute. No one was coming to do drive bys and they weren't tracking anyone. I think DeSantis put that in place as a middle finger to Cuomo and Newsome.

I talk about this stuff all of the time. I have complimented the Lakers a team I despise on making great trades this year multiple times on the MSB.

There was a thread on the OT with directions on how to get in to Fla by going around the Desantis ordered checkpoints. Same thing happened at the border with guv Abbott in Texas
