It brings to together the general suspicion that the GOPe is circling the wagons around Big Dick Ron.

Yeah I don’t know if that’s true, but I am willing to say that whether it’s intentional or not, the fracture of the right is coming together so nicely that it is a touch suspicious.

This sounds like, “it’s her turn!” frick that. The guy that’s best able/prepared to do the tough job of beginning to pound permanent government back into its box is the guy we should support.

Who is that person who’s ready to go in 2024?

quote:

This is lame. Not that it’s untrue he worked against those headwinds, but it’s a lame excuse. Any Republican would encounter the same shite. He was a pretty good president the first 3 years of his term, but he sucked DEM donkey balls in 2020. If we don’t at least make it clear to him that we would expect much better in a second term, we’re going to have another 4 year term where Dems come out in a much stronger position than they had going in. It’s not like the Dems won’t remember how effective Covid was for them, and how spineless Trump was in opposition.

You sure are positive anyone but Trump could have handled Covid-19 better than Trump…..who was this person? Where is that person?

I’ve told you repeatedly Trump went with the 2 weeks to flatten the curve and then he allowed each state to decide how they would handle Covid-19 using the judgment of local health professionals. I think that was the correct call.

No
Do you really think now that he can win Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania? Michigan and Pennsylvania are bluer than ever. He can't get to 270 period.

I love Trump. He did a lot of great things for the country. Part of me does feel bad, but I fear the repercussions of nominating him more than I feel bad.

It’s bizarre that you/others cling to this belief while freaking out (for good reason) at how this country has been on a sever slippery slope to a dystopian hellscape the last three years.

The economy is fricked - do you agree?

The security state (DOJ/FBI) is out of control and in a ridiculously politically biased way - do you agree?

Elections are a joke - do you agree?

Permanent gov’t and big business are collaborating to shape opinions and behaviors - do you agree?

How you can believe those things and also “Trump did a good job on Covid” is f’n crazy. None of that shite - the economy, elections, FBI, etc., etc. are as they are today if Trump maintained control during Covid. We’re talking about a virus that needed to be lied about in YUGE ways to scare the pussies among us.

Bro you’ve got to get ahold of yourself. Just to pluck one of those topics at random, let’s take DOJ/FBI out of control yadda yadda. So what do you make of the blatant abuse of the FISA court for obviously political purposes? That was a little before we’d ever heard of covid.

Do you believe Covid got Biden elected? I do. I think even after impeachment #2, with the economy screaming along - Trump was on his way to a comfortable reelection. Do you think Biden has anything to do with how DOJ/FBI is going about its work today?

It’s like the new election laws. I’m not arguing Trump wrote them. I’m arguing his handling of Covid opened the door for Dems to rewrite them.

You really think it’s crazy to think that Covid changed this country immensely? I think it’s proving to be the most impactful event since WWII.

BTW - what did Trump do when he had the chance to shut the FISA courts down? Not Covid, but another example of Trump not walking his talk.

Sure, I definitely think covid played a prominent role in Trump’s election results. But that doesn’t equate to me contemporaneously believing that he also caused those problems. And as for FISA Court deal, I just don’t think that’s how it works, that he could simply make it go away like that. It’s a statutory court, i.e. created by Congress, and presumably can only be dissolved by that same method.
