A) this is hilarious
B) making the case for Trump here, we would have a permanent outpost in the ME surrounded by water and an ally. We can consolidate bases and resources, be more protected, and also protect an ally at the same time.

A military base and port would take up too much space needed for resorts and casinos.

Well if we own it we can consolidate our forces in an are we owe no one for and project force to the entire area also comes with a port mighty convenient. Pull bases from Saudi, Iraq etc
