Exactly right.
How will we ever have quality candidates for president again, when you have to pretty much be a billionaire to fight against everything thrown at you? And even then it's usually not enough.
Can you imagine someone not as independently wealthy trying to fight against everything they've thrown at Trump? They would never make it. And that's not even mentioning the attempts on his life.
Signing up to run for president on the Republican ticket pretty much means your entire life will be ruined socially, everything you've ever done or said dug up and analyzed, your life will be in constant threat, and the courts digging through your history to find anything they can to charge you with and jail you.
What quality person wants to step up and take all that when they can just live life peacefully?
