I think it was a not well thought out power play, and he's backing out as inconspicuously as possible.

I think its the right move at this time.

No they aren't. They met just the other week with Japan and Korea about improving trade with them. Much like the US, China has countries reaching out to them to shore up trade relationships.

They may be suffering from losing trade with the US, but they are far from ostracized from the world.

wut?

India and Vietnam just put steel tariffs on China, Australia has already told China, "No dice", Thailand is in the process of putting a high VAT tax on Chinese goods, and S. Korea alerted the US that Chinese goods are being labeled "MADE IN KOREA" to avoid tariffs

Pretty much every country in the world needs access to the US consumer...it's kind of the important part in all this.

I am really wanting to see what the first deal made is.

That’s a clown take. So is the one the that says Trump has already won. This action by Trump is in the middle of live action fire. We don’t know the denouement. Anyone claiming certainty about Trump’s victory, or demise, is full of shite. One group will turn out to be correct; I think it will be the pro-Trump group, but we don’t know yet.

One thing is for certain: you are wrong about this not being well thought out. This was well planned. That doesn’t guarantee success any more than Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor, but both were well planned.

Interesting. I'd not read or heard that bit about the EU being set up (in part) to take advantage of trade. It makes sense, bigger entity has more leverage.

Do you enjoy lying? For your sake, I hope you do.

Trump gave countries a 90-day extension to individually negotiate deals. That's where we stand right now. In the meantime, China is feeling more and more ostracized.

Dude, I know it's hard to keep up when you only read comic books.

Thanks for setting the record straight.

These trolls bother me. They seem like a concerted/ concentrated effort to mislead and misinform.

Everyone remembers the thread from yesterday stating the same - that Trump had backed down, wasn't going to fight China. The only way to know for sure they were lying - check the mainstream media :

N O T H I N G

but Hegseth articles and the Pope's passing.

This after a day of hearing 'Trump looking to replace Hegseth'. It's a shame this place has become this bad.

Your bar appears to be even lower if you think Trumps administration has a coherent plan.

Youre still full of that Hopium and Changium shite.

I'm taking a wait and see attitude. You TDS guys, and the Trumptards, simply shuffled into your echo chambers snd started throwing rocks at each other.

Your view that the Trump administration doesn't have a plan is too ridiculous to even address; they do. It's a radical, risky plan. Whether it is wise is a fair debate. Exactly what are its aims is an open question. But whether it's an actual plan is not

Some of its aims are obvious: Trump intends to exit this imbroglio with a tariff regime that is more protectionist than the status quo ante. This is to put pressure on companies to decouple from China and reshore to America, and to raise much needed revenue, and pressure allies to increase defense spending.

Trump's style is to shock and awe then get the best terms possible. You were obviously uncomfortable with this. Maybe you are right. But that is far from certain at this point.

Yet you definitely claim he has a coherent plan. That doesnt make sense.

What you have is faith, not evidence.

You don't read well do ya? Unless it's on your tik tok feed

China can play tough, but they HAVE TO comply. I'll say it again real slow for you....THEY.......HAAAAAAVE.......TO COMPLY.
