Yet regardless of how much money we seem to throw at this issue the results continue to worsen each year.
That I absolutely agree with. It’s honestly so American to just throw money (or weapons). It’s for sure nuanced but my God we need to get creative and more efficient

What will this mean for the Territories? None of them can afford to too keep the lights on without Uncle Sugar footing the bill?
Guam is in need of the federal government to come and take over.

Given the $238 billion budget, that's an average of $4.76 billion dollars for each state.
How much of that money currently flows directly to schools and students? Title money, grants, etc?
We aren’t Spending 238B on department overhead, are we?

Follows that up with this grammatical gem
????? It’s a message board lol but open to see your interpretation of a “grammatical gem”
Additionally, cutting the agency that not only is responsible for protections but allocating money will absolutely dampen education. At the same time, states still have led the large part of their education. States that put more spending into their children and public school systems have better outcomes. It’s just a fact and the numbers support it. You’ll see a trend in the data btw

I don't think most people understand the impact that IEPs have on the functionality of a school. I fricking hate them and for the most part it just gives shitheads a license to act like total douchebags because they know they will pass regardless.
IEPs are a godsend and a huge for 20 percent of kids on them.
For the other 80 percent, they are at best a crutch, at worst a get out of jail free card that allows them to destroy the educational experience of the kids around them. It excuses bad parenting and is a job creator in the school system.

Our tax dollars shouldn’t go towards a system where 80% of the recipients use it as a grift. We don’t need to elevate our lowest performing kids but rather need to push our top students even higher. That would be a much better use of our money.

Without Congressional approval this will go nowhere long term
"Federal Executive Department"... Trump can dismantle it to the point that it cannot be easily put back together...

Response from a liberal:
[quote]For all you applauding President Trump and Elon Musk for tearing down the Department of Education, you all need to go back to school or even do a simple search on the ole interwebs because you have ZERO clue what the DOE actually does. And I really, really hope none of you have kids with IEPs or 504 plans, because you’re about to find out the hard way just how much this department does to protect their education. So, congrats to all of you cheering for the **gutting of the one department that protects millions of kids, students with disabilities, college students, and teachers.** I just hope when reality smacks you in the face, you remember that you **applauded** taking away protections for your own children, neighbors, and future generations./quote]

You mean a kid might no longer be able to get an ODD label and avoid all consequence for being a shitty kid? How will we survive. Period. No question.
