Man I can't stand it when people on my side are disingenuous. Even if that's what Trump meant, he is rightfully being criticized for the loose wording that can imply he meant what they are saying he meant. And you have to know this.
As for threatening to kill Americans, he shouldn't do that. Actually throwing Marxists from helicopters is one thing, and I approve if Trump wants to go full Pinochet and actually fix some things, but empty threats against people he wants to vote for him this fall are just stupid. I hope he is able to convince people that's not what he meant.

This really displays how warped our political culture has become over the last 5 years.
If you agree with Trump and label the rioters as criminals and thugs, you're considered a racist and a Nazi. Despite the fact that Obama literally said the same thing just a few years ago.

It’s not about the word “thugs”. It’s about him using the exact same phrase as Walter Headley, that was attributed to the Liberty City race riots.
At best it was a bad coincidence, at worst it was being fed to him by someone like Parscale.
Either way it was dumb and is not helping to diffuse the situation.
