Newt and the House Republicans refused to go along with it and publicly called it out. Bushies and rest of GOP were mad as hell and trashed them.
BUT
when Bush got beat and the GOP was one vote away from suffering a filibuster proof Senate, the House Republicans gained because they stood on principle in a smart way.
You've heard of 80/20 issues? This is Trump being on a 20 for once, which is rare for him. Most people hate Ticketmaster/Livenation.
