It doesn't matter why—-it was still a deal he put in place.

What's your point? And is it important?

A good business makes deals. And then changes deals when situations and leverage changes.

He's acting as if it's a bad deal that was forced on us and we're being exploited.

Or maybe he forgot that this was his agreement, just like he forgot he appointed Jerome Powell as the Fed chair.

I agree with this—these are living documents that should be revised. Same as any Iran deal.

That's not what's he's saying tho. Unless I'm just bad at Trump speak.

He tends to just tear up deals instead of revising them.

This man has lost it. He isn’t in the same mental capacity as his first term

It may be time to consider removal

If you renege on a deal you made then any other deals in the future aren’t worth the paper it’s printed on.

It was Trumps deal he needs to honor it. If it’s not a good deal that’s on him because he made it

There’s nothing wrong with making amendments but to terminate the deal without a breach by one of the parties is not a good look

Now if Canada or Mexico have not honored the deal then yes terminate it with cause

Exactly—-we made and signed the deal. They mean nothing if you can just rip them up at any time.

He’s saying he doesn’t think we need it anymore. We needed it in the first term to get out from under NAFTA. Now that tariffs are working and we’re on shoring, we have more options than USMCA. It’s not that big of a deal.

Don't necessarily mind him rethinking the agreement. But can he keep it in the circle until he is sure? Not every move needs to be announced.

It might be something for mex and canada to consider...Trump has his ways of getting things done one way or another. We don't need them and as the poster said above...tariffs are working.

Isn’t he talking about renewing the deal? As in it is set to expire and needs to be re-signed?

I thought he had already said there would be two separate trade deals. One for Mexico and one for Canada. Wtf?

We are being exploited! That's the reason he's been pushing on Canada so hard. Mark Carney is a globalist true believer. frick him and Canada. Canada would be crippled if Trump withdrew from that agreement.
I hope he does. All the Toyota plants in Canada would move to the US....
Among many other manufacturing jobs

True. Canada would suffer the most.
