"I'll take the word of the message board guy with unverifiable work history over the chief of border patrol and long time FBI agent"
FWIW I don't doubt ClientNumber9, but this shite is just absurd.

So a guy who has been working as the Chief of Border Patrol since July knows all about the 'wall' and it's effectiveness?
I guarantee you there is more to the story.

I'm sure Trump is an expert on border fortification strategies

but everyone here will laugh and call him an idiot
He's an idiot for publicly announcing he disagrees with his boss.
Exactly.
I learned that lesson in my first job role as a senior in college as an intern. Had a great boss who I was loyal to. He was replaced with a guy that I just didn't agree with. I was a little to vocal about it. Suddenly the policy for interns changed and they no longer needed me.
The hard lessons are the best learned.

I am amazed "the swamp" extends to this job position but I guess i should have realized problems were there also, WOW

Are you denying that he probably knows more about the border and its situation than any of us?
Is that really an unreasonable assertion?

It stands to reason the Chief of the Border Patrol understands and knows a lot more about the border than the trump. Of course the Trumpanzees are going to believe their ringleader can do no wrong.

You aren't very bright are you Toddy?

Chief of Border Patrol might be totally wrong
But it's idiotic to assume he's wrong and Trump is correct without more.

I'm getting the impression that if you aren't a sycophant you can kiss your arse goodbye.
Good luck hiring competent people.

well maybe not more than guy that said he was a boarder patrol for 10 fricking years.

Or maybe he's just unfit for the job
I mean he was a political appointee and never was in border patrol

Well, I'm happy to take questions. Honestly, from my years of baking my arse off in the deserts of Arizona and California, a wall does work. It just does.
However, a wall is just one of three needed tiers. You also need 1) legal consequences to illegal border crossers (jail time and deportation) and 2) tighter controls on access to assistance/welfare programs. Without these, illegal aliens will continue to cross in large numbers.
For example, when I got to my first duty location, we were catching 500-600 aliens a day in just my 20 miles of border. No exaggeration. Sometimes we netted 700+. It was estimated that for every one we caught, three got away because there was no real fencing, not enough agents and no where to house the aliens we did catch.
If the aliens didn't have significant criminal history, they were dropped back off at the border and they'd try again a few hours later. Sometimes we'd catch the same alien three times in one day. Eventually, we'd stop seeing him because he made his way through. The wall slows this down. The legal consequences will put him jail and formally deport him. When he crosses again after this, he'll be a felony case. This dramatically slows border crossings. I've seen it in action.

It doesn't pay to piss off the teamsters. We are talking lots of union jobs in the southwest. The wall will need lots of fixing too because it is sure to be a piece of crap

I'm not denying that he's a filthy liberal who was appointed to his position and now is on the unemployment line.
