Beyond personal experience, something that you share as well, no, there isn’t.
There may be polling somewhere on political engagement. But I don’t care enough about two elections ago to dig it up. I’m more focused on governing and winning in the future. But by all means continue to obsess over 2020. It’s a losing issue, but go ahead and keep going on it.

Harris was not as popular as Biden... Biden himself was not popular when he ran, he just wasn't Trump.
Any Democrat was going to beat Trump in 2020, the Democratic establishment just wanted to make damned sure it wasn't Sanders, who isn't even a Democrat and would've taken control of the party outright.
A part of the Democratic coalition consists of minority working-class males. We have two elections that point to what pollsters and field operatives say but no one wants to acknowledge: minority working-class males don't like female Presidential candidates. They blow off the election, apparently... or in places like Arizona and North Carolina, they vote for Dems downticket and don't vote for the top if the ticket (look at how downticket Dems got more votes than Trump did in 2024).
There was not the Dem "enthusiasm" in 2024... paired with a wave of first-time male voters who didn't remember Trump round 1 and were pissy about the economy and angry about inflation. Every democratically elected government on the planet - regardless of ideological position - got punished electorally in the wake of the COVID shutdown and the resulting economic turbulence. The US was no different... and on top of that, Biden was too old and senile, and Harris... well, she didn't exactly set the world on fire in the 2020 Democratic Primary, which suggests that people maybe just don't like her that much.
On the other hand, Harris got more votes in her 2024 bid than Trump did in 2016, didn't she?

In all honesty, it is much better having Trump now than four years ago. I don't think he would have accomplished as much then and the last 4-5 years the Democrats have really exposed themselves themselves and the American public see just how vile they really are.
