You are all nuts. Where does your devotion to this piece of garbage end versus devotion to your country. A puppet for Russia and Putin will now be in charge and criticizes men and women who put their lives in jeopardy for this country to get information for this traitor and all of you just keep eating his bullshite. He is defending a man who who is wanted for rape and has released classified information versus U.S. intelligence professionals and Dump lied about the meeting. Just like his Wikileaks and Russian heroes, this dispicable human being denies all because of his ego about the election. He is about a good of a US patriot as Putin and Asshoeaunge. Being led by that psycho, Flynn, another Russian lover, he is proving his lack of devotion to America versus his ego. Funny because he will be impeached by his own party...what a scumbag.

I think the first two matter little.

The thing I'm most excited about as far as foreign policy goes will be bringing a hefty dose of pragmatism after the last 16 years of foreign adventurism and nation building that has done more harm than good.

The state and defense departments are full of ideologues who see the rest of the world through american lens and ideology and they try their damndest to shape the world according to their lens and ideology while giving zero shits how the rest of the world feels about it. The Obama and Bush administrations has let these ideologues run fricking buck wild and it needs to stop.

Instead of a one size fits all approach, We really need to start acting like we see the rest of the world like how the rest of the world sees themselves and shift and tailor our policy to accommodate that worldview of the respective country.

Mattis and Tillerson strike me as pragmatic realists and they should be a good indication where Trump-Pence foreign policy will go.

If Trump's foreign policy goes like I just described and what we both hope for, they're going to fricking hate Trump.

Exactly - GWBush administration still had or promoted lots of Cold War Veterans. Barry put in place idealists to push his rainbows & unicorns foreign policy.

Trump is putting people in charge that will streamline ALL of the Fed Gov't. And redirect the dept's to practical, realistic goals that will actually benefit the country. Rather than some world-shaping crusade.

. I know he fell victim to the SES mafia at DIA more than anything else. Can't manage them, good luck managing Congress and the egos at the top of the National Security establishment.

Oh good lord. When DIA is owning that arse you know you got problems.

I never worked anywhere near Flynn, but his rhetoric concerning how we should be thinking about these "wars" makes me nervous. He really seems to have it boiled down to a hero novel where the US is the good guy fighting the empire backed by the dark side of the force.

Not really my thing. I think the years of whack-a-mole at JSOC has his brain turned around a little.

Plenty who worked closely with/for him described him as smart, but lil' touched. And that goes beyond DIA. He made his share of detractors in AFG, too. I mean all people that senior do, but it was a little beyond "he's kind of an a-hole."
