Do the pro-Israel folks not realize that Israeli's laugh at how gullible our populace is and how corrupt our politicians are on a daily basis? They get billions from us every year knowing that for any conflict they create we'll be there unconditionally. Do you know why the IDF hasn't provided troops in our war? Because Israel's government isn't that stupid and because they look after their own citizens first and foremost. Mike Huckabee and other dispensationalists care more about the folks in Tel Aviv than those in their own country.

I can pull resource after resource demonstrating what I am saying.
US Israeli military relations You will see here that the extent of the US access to Israel is that some of the weapons that we sold them will be reserved for US use in the event of a US occupation of Israel. There are NO dedicated US staging areas in Israel.
Army Corps of Engineers builds airfields for Israeli Air Force These bases belong to Israel, and are NOT staging areas for US operations.
We do not have any staging areas for US operations in Israel. We have built many of these areas for Israeli use, and other than perhaps some clandestine efforts, they have never been utilized for theater operations.
Not really sure how much more you are going to need, but all of this information is available in open source, so pretending as though Israel is a vital military or intelligence ally is ridiculous. They aren't. What they are is a political partner, one that should enjoy a much lower status than they do.

Answer the question. Have you been there in a military capacity? If yes, have you done so in the past ten years?
I can answer yes to both. Let's just say if you're correct and I'm not, then I'd love for you to explain to me what I was doing at USAREUR and USEUCOM for 18 months....

However, Israel does have a solid reputation in the intelligence department. Not sure if we still rely on it as much or really need it that much with the dynamics in the ME, but they are a fairly big player in the spy game.

Mike Huckabee is a southern baptist who thinks that jews are the chosen people of god and that the apocalypse will happen after a large battle between Israel and the rest of the world. He also has a tourism business in Israel. He is among the most biased people in politics on the topic of the nation of Israel and yet he is appointed as the ambassador. He has no credentials at all with Arab states or Islamic states, something that could possibly play a small role for an ambassador to that state or any state in the region.
This is one of the most important and most difficult positions in the department. Nobody should be considering this guy for that position. A career politician of almost 25 years who believes that god favors the chosen people of Israel over all others, and has said that America should always defend them (meaning soldiers and bombs). How fricking stupid.

Correct. Granted they aren't on the level of a FVEY member, but they're still a major intel sharing partner.
