Brah, being nativist isn’t good or bad, but by the most important measure, TFR, nativists have been failing in a massive way. White Americans are about to enter their fifth decade of sub-replacement rates. Our political economy is organized so that there is continual growth as well as a growing population. No one is going to want to suffer the years it would take to reorient liberal political economy into something else. There isn’t even a cogent antithesis that has worked elsewhere.

As long as they are allied with big business, they will have relatively little political power. And certainly, the more extreme of the nativists, such as ones who want to curb legal immigration, have far less sway than you seem to think.
