Stupid bitch.
This one will be fun. Take a gander to the local WalMart on a weekend and notice how many people pay with EBT cards. It's depressing as hell.

President Trump’s administration unveiled a new regulation to limit green cards and visas for immigrants who have received a various forms of welfare, the Department of Homeland Security announced Saturday. r“This proposed rule will implement a law passed by Congress intended to promote immigrant self-sufficiency and protect finite resources by ensuring that they are not likely to become burdens on American taxpayers," DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said, per NBC. The proposal is rooted in a federal law that restricts immigration for people “likely to become a public charge,” according to U.S. Customs and Immigration Services; a “public chage” is someone “primarily dependent on the government for subsistence.” A regulation promulgated in 1999 construed that law as applying only to cash benefits, NBC explained, but the new proposal would broaden the list of benefits.

Immigrant advocates argue that it will harm poor immigrants, even those who already live in the U.S. with government assistance and have American citizens in their household. “This is a radical proposal to do an end run around Congress,” Jackie Vimo, policy analyst at the National Immigration Law Center in Washington, told the Los Angeles Times in August. “This will close the door to anyone except white, English-speaking, wealthy immigrants.”

We need contributors immigrating to this country. We have enough recipients.

I'd rather a WALL, but this is a good start

Immigrants should be self-supporting and English-speaking, no matter what color they are. We don't need to be importing a bunch of broke dicks.

Nobody will ever convince me that citizenship should be granted to people on any basis other than merit, potential or direct economic need.
1. Your knowledge and skill are needed here? Walk down this path sir
2. Your intelligence and drive have the potential to be special with our help? Walk down this path sir
3. I don’t have anything but I’m willing to bust my arse and do whatever the US needs doing to change my families future
I don’t have a problem with #2 getting some kind of govt assistance assuming they’re pursuing some formal education here. And it should be time constrained. Getting a degree? Ok, we’ll pay your tuition and housing for 4 years in return for x,y,z when you’re done. A simple contract between willing parties. If #1 is gonna get a handout to get himself going, it should be from the company hiring him. #3 is the tricky one. I like the idea that you can come here with nothing and become successful. But too many have nothing and want to be GIVEN success. If you can define a criteria for them, a “we’ll help you with your dream as long as you A,B,&C”, then I think that’s great too.
All 3 should be separate entities and should all fluctuate based on what our economy can support, not on “we owe the world”

So wtf is it? A new regulation or enforcement of an existing law?

It's a new regulation based off of an existing law.

If he could end all welfare and entitlement programs, that'd be great.

DHS "public charge" Comment Submission
In the old days this was primarily a law and order people site. It has certainly changed.
Anyway, all parties are welcome to participate in the new "public charge" rule making process concerning immigrants' non-allowances to use public assistance by filing a DHS Form I-944 (Declaration of Self-Suffiency). Mail your ideas to:
Samantha de Shommes, Chief, Regulatory Coordination Division, Office of Policy and strategy
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Department of Homeland Security
20 Massachusetts Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20529
DHS officials said the proposal is not yet final, but the administration is eager to ensure “that foreign nationals seeking to enter or remain in the U.S are self-sufficient.”
Comments must be submitted in English; and, you must reference: DHS Docket No. USCIS 2010-- 2140

THIS is what we elected this beautiful orange bastard for.

You are exactly right. We need as many people as will come that will pay taxes and work with out welfare and without publicly provided housing and health care. There should be no limit of the green cards for such people. If they are coming for a job and have proof they will have health insurance let them come.
No non citizen should get welfare and most citizens that get it should get less.
I suspect ending food stamps, housing and medicaid to non citizens will do more than any fence to stem illegal immigration.
If Trump wants to build a fence go ahead but ending welfare--a major economic incentive to come to America--will do more to stop illegal immigration.

How can something like this be stopped? This isn't something that some crazed moonbat judge located in WallaWalla can overturn, is it?

I manage a large Supermarket and I watch a lot of my customers and cashiers daily. I see a LOT of Mexican immigrants who work jobs here and all get food stamps and welfare. A lot of food stamps/ETB. They can not speak English and get $600 TO $900 IN FOOD STAMPS. One
Mexican woman gets $900 for 5 illigitimant kids with 3 men and drive an Escalade. It's disgusting to see this every month.

Now this is a good trump move. It is reasonable and necessary. Now, can he throw away the twitter phone?

1. This will be more effective than the wall
2. This can help pay for the wall.
3. Wal-Mart is the nation’s largest recipient of welfare. That’s why the Waltons are Democrats.
