I’m actually curious to see what maximum financial sanctions on Russia would look like. Total energy block, raid the shadow fleet, just total economic warfare for the summer months. I bet they come to the table.

Z won't give up just yet because Germany, France and England are giving him just enough resources to hand on, probably with the help of our CIA.

None of this will go well. These “strikes” on Russia are all flash and do nothing to change the situation on the ground.

Aren't we on like level 10 of the sanctions escalator? What more can be done?

Trump gave russia an out and they didn’t take it.
He’s been holding back the MIC for them like bunch of rabid pitbulls on a leash.

From a layman looking in, it feels like we’re at a 5 or a 6. We allow the shadow fleet to sail, allow some banking to occur, and look the other way on India and China.

I've never understood why the restrictions in the first place.

Firstly, why provide systems not utilized to their full potential... in a war.

Secondly, if we're going to be in it, even only to this degree, you should be in it to win.

We were providing just enough and restricting just enough to guarantee a stalemate.

Yes, this will be an escalation. But Trump misread the situation and there are only 2 choices now:

1. Tell Zelensky to frick off and, eventually, Russia will win. Possibly immediately when Z's own inner circle disappear him and blame it on the Russians.

2. Ramp up and cut loose to hurt the Russians on Russian soil just enough where they decide to end it through negotiation and actually give ground and negotiate in good faith (which they have not done yet).

This is lose-lose on an international scale. The only real choice is to do what helps the American people the most- which is abandon Ukraine to the Bear, save our money, and don't risk the escalation.

Sorry, this is the reality on the ground barring Z making a deal where we have a vested interest of providing a security guarantee. Z is unwilling.

Trump being erratic is not some negotiation tactic

He is not being erratic. He changed his rhetoric after his Golf Game with Lindsey Graham, Trey Gowdy, and the President of Finland. It is obvious he changed after that. He must have got some great deal on those Icebreakers. Maybe a 2 for 1

The Very Next Day after this Golf Outing he told NBC News he was "pissed off at Putin" Everyone can see what is going on here

Boosie thinks we can actually shut down all Russian oil that would send the price of Oil and Inflation sky high. Trump would love that

They don't trust us. I wonder if they are content playing the long game? Their number one goal appears to be cock blocking NATO at Ukraine, not necessarily O&G markets. They are resource independent but still can sell O&G very cheap to the East even if we cut off all their O&G markets west. That would be good for the U.S. and Louisiana because it forces Europe to buy more LNG from us.

Meanwhile it looks like those Russia attacks this weekend were not a one off. They are preparing something big

You can't give Ukraine permission to shoot missiles at Russia if you want to strike a deal with Russia. That seems obvious to me but maybe I'm missing something.

What kind of deal… another prisoner swap?

Putin called Trump an emotional woman. That will derail it also…

This would not be possible if China had not built their pipeline (and road, and railroad) into Kazakhstan.

The only way we can use O&G is to partner with Russia to combat the EU and China.

That is not in the cards.

We can not co-opt the Kazakhs and break that link because, IMHO, they are Putin's next target anyway and the Chinese need that cheap oil. They'd be crushed with the Russians and Chinese fighting over Astana and the Dzungarian Gate in a year.
