I am not disputing this, but this thread is about impeachment. I simply used the information, which was surprisingly hard to find. Nobody is correctimg my information. If I am wrong and somebody has better information, then I want to know. The 25th will require the majority of cabinet members to go along. Even less likely than 2/3 from Senate.

If he is covicted by the Senate, or if they can successfully invoke the 25th, Trump will not be elligble to run again.

This is personal as trump made our politicians look like fools. One that comes to mind is Obama saying that manufacturing jobs could never come back. Trump proved that was bullshite. Makes Obama look bad. They don’t like that crap.

Just spit balling here , but I think there is a desire to discourage future candidates who lose presidential elections from engaging in insurrection or violent behavior to overturn the results of the elections. These folks seem to think elections are important and that simply lying about the result and asking gangs of supporters to attack Congress for affirming the result is poor manners and not good public policy.

Oh I see I misspoke. I clearly meant Senate majority leader. The house has the votes to impeach, I am just assuming it goes through and to the Senate next.

What are they scared of? The voters? Because if so, I'm not so sure doing that to Trump would be the best move for the group as a whole.

I had similar thoughts, but we are talking about the Repubs in this instance. But who knows, it might be one of those distinction without a difference deals.

1. Democrats cannot do anything about his Trump's record in office which is actually quite impressive when you step back and look at it. They want to destroy his record, and they know that Russia collusion will not hold up to the test of time and neither will their criticisms of the way he handled covid. The best way to make him go down in history is to make him be the only POTUS to be impeached twice and if they use trying to start an insurrection as the pretense for it then they are hoping that everyone will remember that is what it was for. The media will do their best to make sure that everytone thinks that Trump's second impeachment was for attempting a coup just like they made people think WJC was impeached for getting a blowjob.
2. The elites hate the fact that Trump brought new voters to the table. They want the white "Wal-Mart shopping Trump supporters" to go back to not paying attention.
3. It is personal between Trump and Pelosi.
