That the President is a practical man that wants to win a house seat in Miami dade and knows that he must have candidates that can win if he wants to take the house back from Nancy Pelosi and get real immigration enforcement legislation passed. A far right guy isn't winning in Miami Dade.
We need every vote we can get to make Kevin McCarthy or Steve Scalise the Speaker.

The guy he endorsed is also Cuban, was mayor of Miami, and appears to have done well there.
Just taking a wild arse guess, I'd say he has a pretty good chance of winning which is the most important thing at this point. A Republican winning Miami-Dade would be a big thing.

If Gimenez wins, he's one less vote to make Nancy Pelosi speaker and that's all that matters. Basically the Miami version of Susan Collins who is also one less vote to make Chuck Schumer Majority Leader.
The real MAGA crew from the heartland, the south and the rust belt will take care of needed policy reforms for immigration enforcement, healthcare and so on.
