It is starting to look similar. May be too soon to say just now but (and pardon the pun) there appears to be a chink in China's armor starting to show. Xi may be in trouble. Of course with China there will be bloodshed and the Communist Party power brokers will have no qualms murdering 1000s to maintain power and control. Still, something is happening that is worth watching in the midst of all of this coronavirus stuff as well as the Trump induced tarrifs.

Full article with pics and videos linked here. Portions excerpted in the quotes below.

LINK: https://andmagazine.com/talk/2020/03/02/the-last-communist-emperor-xi-and-the-ccp-lose-control-of-china/
quote:

The last emperor of the Ming Dynasty in China was Chongzhen. He presided over an empire bloated with bureaucracy, drowning in lies and desperately trying to stave off the inevitable. In the end, as the system crumbled around him, he rang the bell in his palace to signal his ministers to assemble before him. No one came. He was alone, and the empire was no more. He hung himself in despair.

Perhaps things have not yet reached quite that point for Xi Jinping. They may yet, however.

For decades now the world has told itself the lie that China represented the future, that its society and government were liberalizing, that the Chinese people supported their government and its policies. The coronavirus crisis has exposed that lie in all its monstrosity.

The Chinese Communist Party is not the vanguard of anything. It is a brutal, thuggish syndicate more akin to a criminal mafia than a political party. It oppresses its people with ruthless efficiency. It feeds on lies, false statistics and meaningless claims of success and progress. It is hopelessly incompetent at everything other than oppression.

The Chinese economy is at a standstill. Factories are shuttered. The Caixin/Markit Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) showed factory production and new orders collapsing to the worst levels on record last month, while employment also took a nosedive. Satellite images published by NASA show a massive drop in air pollution over Chinese cities consistent with an 80% drop in industrial activity and traffic.

Nothing is being produced. No one is moving.

Chinese efforts to force workers back into factories and restart industrial production have met with limited success. Undeterred the bureaucracy has simply decreed that factories will use minimum amounts of electricity daily and report those results to party officials. Factory owners and managers have responded to the mad edict by simply turning on equipment and allowing it to run continuously, using electricity, producing nothing and feeding the gargantuan bureaucracy the meaningless statistics on which it feeds.

The article is available in its entirety linked above the quote.

It is a good piece, worth reading.

And to think sooooo many fools rose up against Trump when he began to place tariffs on China

I have theory God is walking side by side with Trump and he’s giving Trump first hand knowledge of what to do to destroy the evil empire

It’s working too!

Give it another month. Those factories that produce 80-90 percent plus of the prescription medications we use aren't making any. Coronavirus may not kill millions here. Our dependence on third world manufacturing just may do it.

Which is why Trump has been trying to bring manufacturing back into the US.

I have a friend who works for Dupont who I spoke with last night and he told me China doesn't actually make the drugs as much as they do some of the various deugs' component ingredients. He told me that Trump just met with some drug company execs over the weekend at the White House and a plan has been put in place for us to start churning out drugs again here in this country .... we'll be hearing about it soon.

Has anyone ever said this? Primarily the liberalizing part?

If anything I hope for a diversification of supply
Lines and trading partners after this

Emphatically Yes. In fact, I give Trump higher marks than Reagan because China is a much more difficult foe. Russia was overtly confrontational, China is a snake.

Russia was easier bc we simply out-spent them in the arms race; that's why the old USSR collapsed. We can't simply out-spend China; Trump has been a genius so far.

And the USSR was meaningless to the US economically. Breaking china without breaking us is truly a master stroke.

You know who was on the team for those USSR negotiations? Robert Lighthizer. You know who is the straw that stirs the drinks on the China negotiations these days? Robert Lighthizer.

That baw is a killer. Trump loves killers.

Actually, more succinctly, Russia went down because they overreached. "The USSR" was composed of a number of satellite states that had become very difficult for mother Russia to control and finance.

Yes, we outspent them and Ronnie made it clear that he was going to do that with his Star Wars edict, but the USSR was already teetering thanks to Lech Walesa and the Polish labor unions quite honestly, Also, we had a strong Polish Pope at the time in John Paul II .... I loved that man.

"Tear Down This Wall" was the catch phrase of the time and it spread but those were all very unique circumstances.

All Trump needs is a catchphrase and then he needs to support Hong Cong and hope for a further democratic uprising from within China .... which we may be seeing from Chinese labor if this article is correct.

Also, if Tibet were to find an way to break away it might be the final straw to Xi's back. Now, whether that would mean they would poison Xi and replace him with a hardliner, who knows.

Coronavirus is to China what Chernobyl was to Russia. An il-timed unnatural disaster that exposes the bad effects of dictatorships on public health and transparency. Totalitarian regimes implode from within when this is exposed.

You liberal shite stains are praying it hits us hard, aren't you.

Winning that 2016 election is still more important to liberals than the well being of our nation.

You liberals will be homicidal/suicidal when you lose 2020.

Nice post and nice site Rooster.

uFC love me some lighthizer. he took China's template for crushing the US and put in measures to blunt them.

But also polices in other aspects of policy. The limits on Chinese students in advanced studies in sensitive industries. DeVoss demanding universities disclose who is funding what. The blocking of chines investment in ALL sensitive companies, not just military. The ramped up focus on espionage cases.

Just as you said, master strokes. Man is worth his weight in gold.

Thanks and yeah trinidad, I like AndMagazine a lot. They've got it going on. Good group of people, very logical and very vet friendly.

Also, and you obviously picked-up on this, looking back at past and present it would appear to me that through thick and thin and in the face of alllll the impeachment bluster .... Trump took office with two clear goals in mind above all others,

1 - Fill the courts with conservative judges.

2 - Knock China down a notch or two and put them in their place while firmly reestablishing the U.S. back on top in our rightful perch.

He's gotten some Devine (sic) help along the way in my estimation because he just keeps winning on both fronts. Things just keep falling our way (knock on wood) with his team and him orchestrating this comeback for our country.

I remember distinctively how it felt under Ronnie Reagan, winning everywhere .... after a decade of the 70s that was not kind to the United States. Actually two decades, the 60s and the 70s. Then along came Ronnie.

That's what this is beginning to feel like .... or very similar.
