Trump discussing deficit and fraud

The question was I know you don’t sleep much at night and I know you’re concerned about the national debt. Trump acknowledges 37 trillion and how growth will get us out. Then discusses cuts and fraud, specifically Minnesota.
I know there’s posters who say he doesn’t care about the debt, he’s not fiscally conservative, and he doesn’t know what’s going on in Minnesota.
For those people who habitually say Trump doesn’t know what is going on or doesn’t care or spends out of his arse, you are completely wrong.

Thanks man. Hopefully we can all start to heal as a nation.

To get a budget passed and to keep all the lemmings happy, he knows there will be some serious horse trading. Most Congressmen are not on board with cuts just so we're clear. They may say that, but they'll add their own pork in at the end.

Sorry, but this is absurd. There is ZERO data that Trump is advocating for reducing our deficit or our debt.
The ONLY deficit reducing policy he has advocated for is lower interest rates. He hasn't even suggested that we return to pre-COVID spending levels. And why not? It's because he knows that economic growth depends on government spending.
During his first term, the deficit climbed every single year, reaching a trillion dollars in his last 2 years, and that does NOT include any COVID spending.
He recently advocated for a $1.5 trillion military budget. The deficit for this year is projected to be anywhere from $1.7-2.2 TRILLION
Yes, there is fraud in our government, and it needs to be addressed, but we are WAY beyond growing ourselves out of this mess. Way beyond.

Agreed. We are still spending like a 20 year old with his first credit card.

You know federal spending is public information, right?

What part of Trumps actions during his first term and now make you think he’s fiscally conservative?

Sorry but you’re a pussy. See we both can be dramatic.

Audit every department AGAIN and when they can’t account for any line item, cut that from their budget after cutting an initial 5%. Forget the insane ideal of a $1.5T defense budget. Distribute any fed funds to the states as block grants after cutting the amount for each by 5%. Freeze distribution to any state until they can pass an audit and/or decrease funding by amounts that cannot be accounted for.
Abolish the department of education and any other department that has operations that a state should perform, block grant after cutting 5% and freeze funds until an audit can be passed. Abolish Homeland Security and give duties to existing departments. Combine existing departments where duties overlap after cutting budget by 5%.
Freeze foreign aid for a period of one year until they can establish a reliable accounting process subject to yearly audit, with funds frozen until an audit is passed.
Pipe dreams…. but we have to account for every cent in our places of employment, and we damn well have to pay every cent that they say we owe them.

They are doing or have already done everything you listed.

Healing that doesn't start with cutting the head off of the socialist serpent infesting this country and burning the entire body to ashes is not the kind of healing I want to see or this country needs.
We cannot coexist with people who hate this country and want to turn it into a 3rd world country. The fight needs to happen once and for all.

I can see a few that they have not/are not doing. (Forgot to mention get rid of TSA-private function)
In fact, when have they cut anything?

But he does spend out of his arse. Facts don't care about your stupid opinion.

DOE
Reductions

DOGE cuts
I butchered the word bureaucracies

And the left feels the exact same way. Both the political left and right have become so tribal and cultish that I firmly believe that there can be no reconciliation.
The US is already on the unreversible path of destroying itself from within. As a 41 year old I'll die before the collapse I think, but I worry for my kids.

Those are the same people that think the President controls the budget and were probably against DOGE cuts

He's literally the first president that created DOGE

He threw a good tantrum didn’t he saying how absurd it is. Haha
Posted on 1/21/26 at 3:24 pm to Rainier Fog
DOGE is a renamed agency that took over the duties of a team that already did that.
Musk isn't the first guy to think of lowering govt waste and fraud.
Growing your self out of debt is short sighted because that's what every President has done and the debt still grew.

Thanks for the recap. "Those people" are keeping score -- unlike his panting lapdogs.
Let me put it this way: Trump. Doesn't. Give. ONE RIP.
He delivers words NOT deeds. He stalls and stonewalls Justice. His promises ring hollow. He delivers lip-service and teases mirages. Except to his political donors *cough* THEY get all they want and demand.
On delivering on anything that benefits, protects, enriches, or improves the standards of living for America's citizenry? Scraps. Tomorrow's promises will also be forgotten. As in 2017-2020.
STATE POWER. PERSONAL POWER. PERSONAL LEGACY. A "Golden Age" for himself and his fellow believers of his Egyptian-Roman-Babylonian mystery religion. This are what actually matters to this President.
