If trump is on tape stating that a document is unclassified…..there really isn’t any sort of word gymnastics needed for that. It’s pretty straight forward.

1. Documents in his possession - mean unclassified
2. Doesn’t matter what he says to a staffer at that point

The indictment even says he had classified documents. But he declassified everything. Furthermore the federal government archivists moved those documents down to MAL.
