I actually agree with you on this. The nuclear waste has to go somewhere. Yucca mountain is a great location that we have heavily prepared for the task. Plus, that whole region was a nuclear test ground before Vegas had much of a heart beat.

That is an awful idea. Expensive and rockets explode.


Yucca is good because it can be retrieved and used as technology improves and uses are found for it, or it could just stay there and decay and drop in lethality.

If we really want to get rid of it, we could bore holes in front of tectonic subduction zones then put the waste canisters down into them to be carried into the earths magma and dispersed. Their is already rad material through out the earth. It would quickly be immeasurable compared to its surroundings.



Another idea is to put it in Antarctica where nothing has changed in thousands of years. It is stable and dry. I think the problem there would be heating the ground around the canisters. I don't know what that would do with permafrost.
