Sahil Kapur
@sahilkapur
TRUMP just told Republican senators he supports the Alexander-Murray ACA stabilization bill, per Mike Rounds who was in the room.

Trumpsessed.
All of his campaign “promises” were opening offers in his negotiations.
The man knows how to make a deal, and libs are losing their shite over it.

LOL the spin you guys come up with to legitimize your support for this lying buffoon is simply amazing to behold

Wait, aren't you happy he is trying to compromise now? Isn't it good when negotiations happen?

that tactic would make the house more malleable, but i'm not sure about the senate. i don't think that swamp can be drained.

“Build the wall!”
“Lock Her Up!”
“Repeal and Replace!”
...and let’s not forget the crown jewel..
“MAGA!”
Trump has succeeded in organizing his base around stupid tribal chants. Nothing more.

Holy shite
Trumpsuckers are always surprising me with new and innovative ways to give Trump a free pass for doing the same exact shite they excoriate the GOPe for.

Actually draining it is pretty easy. Just repeal the 17th amendment.
You described precisely why the 17th amendment is such an abomination. Electing senators by popular vote made the senate into a souped and glorified house of reps with longer terms, less members and representing entire states instead of just a district.
Senators are supposed to be accountable and answerable to state governments, not the ignorant masses who don't know any better. State governments had representation in DC before the 17th as Senators were practically ambassadors.
If the 17th didn't exist, bullshite like medicaid, SNAP, the patriot act, no child left behind, immigration amnesty and ObamaCare would've never had a shot in hell at passing because they pass down costs to the state and robs them of their own power and influence.

I have never heard "lies" spun so wonderful.
Well done.

Trump supports any bill because he needs a win.
Posted on 11/28/17 at 3:37 pm to HailHailtoMichigan!
Looks like he's gonna swallow this bullet for now in exchange for the Collins posse voting for the tax bill (and repeal of the mandate).
Posted on 11/28/17 at 3:40 pm to HailHailtoMichigan!
So Trump now has shifted from repealing Obamacare to actually supporting expanding it and increasing subsidies? Wow that seems hypocritical and against what he promised! No way tho I’m sure that it’s fake news
Posted on 11/28/17 at 3:43 pm to gamatt53
It's called compromise to get the mandate repealed and to get tax reform through
Every president gives up something to get other things passed
Reagan's tax reform required significant concessions from Dem congress

Going in everyone knew Trump was weak on healthcare. "What are you going to do? Let them die in the streets." Remember that during the campaign?
What sucks is, the GOP was expected to pull Trump right on healthcare. That is, have him compromise right. Disappointingly the senate is pulling Trump left on healthcare.
