Under Barr's DOJ - and even under Sessions - ongoing (real) investigations aren't leaked for political purposes. Investigations aren't leaked at all.
If I had to speculate, an investigation of Giuliani is complete fiction and is a means to muddy the waters. Anytime a news outlet runs a story with unnamed sources anyone, R or D, should be skeptical.

logic doesn't apply.. in today's strange world, Rudy and his buddies Lev and Igor are good guys (dudes buying one way tickets out of the country after refusing to testify about the fake energy company they set up to illegally funnel $'s from russia and the ukraine to republican pacs) and Steve Kerr is a bad guy.
