What the hell Michigan?

McClatchy

“President Donald Trump’s campaign is not currently running television or radio ads in Michigan and its allied super PAC has been dark in the state for most of July, a possible indication that the key Upper Midwestern battleground is beginning to fall out of reach.

The Trump campaign stopped running ads in Michigan last week, while it continues to advertise in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, according to the ad tracking firm Medium Buying. America First Action, the pro-Trump super PAC, has not aired advertising there since July 2 and its latest flight that ties Joe Biden to the “Defund the Police” movement is not scheduled to air in Michigan. Instead, the spot is running in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona and North Carolina.

“We’re looking at the map and basing our investment decisions on the most reliable pathway to 270 electoral college votes,” said an adviser to the super PAC, who insisted that Michigan remained winnable and encouraged the Trump campaign to invest there.“

Wow!

Sounds like Kushner decision (and also exactly like a Hillary Clinton decision). In Michigan, the backlash against the Dems, and their radical-left governor, is Monumental.

Or their internal polling is showing they're comfortably ahead so they can divert resources to MN, PA, NC, etc.

I like this statement.. I think, if true, they'll go back to Michigan in the latter months to sure it up.

According to RCP, there have been 12 polls on Michigan in July. Biden leads in all of them, with a range from +4 to +12. The average is +8.

There is an upcoming primary in August for Michigan. Perhaps that is factoring into the decision to pull ads. Maybe the thought is the market is saturated with political ads?

He’s in trouble in Texas too. Cruz has sounded the alarm there.

Just like in 2016 when the tards were jerking off over Texas and Georgia then proceeded to lose the entire rust belt.

Doesn't reconcile with

The supposed remarks from the supposed adviser to the referenced PAC makes no sense. PAC doesn't feel Michigan's reliable enough to spend money there but turns right around and says the campaign should invest there because it's winnable? Doesn't seem to add up.

Could be. Such has happened before.

Still, sometimes polls are accurate. I take nothing for certainty.

Beta had a weakened Cruz in a low turnout, off year election, and didn't come close. DIMS had their chance, and the skate punk blew it. Trump's not going to lose Texas.

From Forbes two weeks ago:
quote:

One governor whose approval rating has risen is New York’s Andrew Cuomo, who hit an all-time high of 60% approval in a Marist poll released Friday.

quote:

The overwhelming trend for governors as the pandemic persists is declining popularity. In the Harvard study, the approval ratings of just five governors’ handling of the virus rose: New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, Vermont Gov. Phil Scott, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Hawaii Gov. David Ige.

Three recent polls have Whitmer’s approval rating above 50%, with an average of 53%.

Unless you openly admit illegals are voting (notice how blue those county's are close to the border in comparison to the rest of the state), then Trump wins TX and it's not even a concern.

I have lived in North Texas for 9 years and it has changed a lot. There are areas in North Texas that were very red, specifically Collin County, Tarant County. There have been a lot of Democrats from CA and other Blue States moving in. Texas is not safely red and comparing to 2016 isn’t a good comparison. If Trump carries Texas the margin will be close. Look at the Republican percentages over the elections since 2004. In 2018, there were Beto signs all over North Dallas which has been a Republican stronghold.

To suspend ad dollars this late is a huge alarm.

Because Trump himself has a shite ton of money they can still spend if they wanted to.

This race isn't going to be some landslide many posters on here think.

His campaign is a shite show because of Kushner leading the charge. When's the last time trump even visited Michigan? What's his campaign doing not putting him there to campaign?
