I don't think Trump is truly compromised by Israel/AIPAC or anything, but I think his admin is surrounded by people doing the weird Evangelical-boomer meme of supporting Israel absolutely. We know Trump can be swayed into weird decisions by those in his admin, so I reckon Iran is simply one of those scenarios.
