So Trump can personally use this money however he sees fit. He now controls the purse strings. He used taxpayer funds to deploy the military in Venezuela...gets a cool billion or so for sale of another country's oil and then whisks it away to a bank account outside of the Treasury to which he unilaterally decides where/how/when he should spend it. It's hard to see this any other way. The lack of details are astonishing. To whom did we sell Venezuela's oil? For how much? In which bank in Qatar do we have those funds?

It's my understanding they put it in Qatari accounts so Western creditors couldn't put a lean on it. Venezuela owes about $170 billion in money they have already been instructed to pay by international courts.
And if it was in the U.S. Treasury, Congress would make it disappear with a quickness.
