It’s not some left wing argument. Go read stuff from the CATO institute. Trump has turned trade deficits into a boogeyman for no apparent reason. You can’t even articulate why they are bad. You are speaking pure nonsense.
Now there are some downsides to a trade deficit, but you really have to make a strong justification for throwing tariffs at some of our biggest trading partners.

You’re not going to get any real response. The thought process here, and with trump apparently is:
Deficit = less, less = bad.
It’s not based on any economic theory whatsoever. A trade deficit isn’t always a bad thing as you pointed out but the low end of the totem pole here only sees the perceived negative connotation of the word ‘deficit’.

I like how restrained trumpkins are being. Less circle jerking than usual about this. Makes me worry that even they see the cracks here
