Perjury on the other hand, which you stated before, is an actual crime, not the made up mickey mouse bull shite we see before us today

But again he committed perjury about being with Monica...

I'm not excusing the "crime"...but how many would lie in the same circumstances if you're POTUS? I would not...but I'm also not a cheater

Most adulterators lie about it...so understand it...

Not enough to remove if that's the "crime"

What's the background on how that came to be?

I agree with this

You saw how seriously they treated those same types of allegations with Flynn and Stone.

We should totally use this defense in murder cases. How many would lie about murdering someone? We should just let them go.

But adultery isn't against the law

No need for quotation marks. When you are being deposed, raise your right hand and swear to tell the truth, and then lie through your teeth, it’s a crime. A felonious crime, in fact. Also known as a high crime. Obstruction of justice is as well, if I’m not mistaken. Suborning perjury too.

I thought that case was separate...
it's what started everything. He'd testified to not having an relations, and then, it began to leak that he had. Which, by definition, meant he'd lied under oath.

My point is if he was sleeping with someone other than Hillary...that's a sin not a high crime.
Correct. It would be absurd to impeach a guy for adultery. Alas, he lied under oath in his sexual harassment case. (and then again to Ken Starr when questioned about that lie)……...so, basically lied under oath twice.

My question is, is the GOP partly to blame for our current situation involving endless investigations?
This would require the CLinton thing to have been the first investigation of its sort.

But, it wasn't. So, I don't see how you can place at that that doorstep.

I never thought he should be impeached for that because it had nothing to do with his job performance.

It could have had a lot to do with his job performance. He left himself vulnerable to blackmail

If you are accused of sexual harassment with a subordinate co-worker, your sexual behavior with other subordinates is fair game.

You don't get to lie about it. I mean hell, the left should be more appalled than anyone on that subject!

He didn't lie because it would out him as a cheater. Everyone paying attention already knew he was a poon hound.

He lied because admitting it would have been bad for his case with Paula Jones.

Are you being willfully obtuse?

Sexual harassment IS against the law and it was in a sexual harassment case where his behavior with ANOTHER subordinate was questioned. And, he lied about it.

Frankly, at this point, anyone who thinks Paula Jones was lying hasn't been paying attention and yet, Hillary and the media portrayed her in the most vile way possible...……...then Bill LIED in her case.

That's kinda serious actually.

Exactly. And thus the obstruction of justice charge, and he was guilty as sin, of both. The senate not convicting and removing him is the reason we have the socialist democrat party we have today.

I would aim for the government dependents. Food stamps, section 8, (un)earned income tax credits, or even student loans in default should temporarily suspend voting privileges. With a clear and specific process for restoring them once you're off the dole. If you can't provide food and shelter for your family your opinion is not needed.

Fair enough...

Why did Congress get to this point of total disfunction?

I'm just trying to understand what we're witnessing
