Which dems will claim this is racist?

Why don’t stores just list prices with sales tax included rounded to the nearest nickel where possible on displays?
A logistical...and expensive...nightmare scenario for any national chain. They do not want to do this.
We are talking about getting rid of the penny. One trip to the store the bill is rounded up .03 and the next trip it's rounded down .03...over the course of a year is it really going to be more than .25?

$20 and below should be a coin.
Will be interesting to see how pricing for goods/services goes now.

Not really, with computers and cell phones. I have noticed subtle price differences between Walmart locations and Rouses locations on the same exact non sale items.
Now if you are advertising a specific item for a region that may be problematic, but if you are promoting can goods at a presale tax of 94 cents, you can probably get away with rounding off the tax and no penny to 1.00.
In Europe that is what they do with the VAT, it is added to the sales price.

This is also just another step trowwrd cashless society. This is not a good thing at all.
Never thought I'd see someone actually complain about not having a penny

Got rid of the only brown coin. I think we all know Trump’s true motive here.
(That’s sarcasm btw, for the posters here who miss half the jokes)

They can revive the penny when Trump brings inflation down.

Then how does tax get worked as well (keeping it to $.25/$.50/$.75/$.00 totals)?

they need to kill the nickel too....

Might as well discontinue the nickel and dime while they’re at it.
The nickel costs more to make than its value, so I'd be OK with that.
The dime costs less to make than its value. Whether it should or should not be continued is a subject for discussion.

Just price everything with the sales tax already included. Solves the issue.
Waffle House does that on their menus. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for everyone else.

The issue with this WHAT are the costs for the stores to get these goods & who’s paying the difference?
Say an item costs $1.38 for the store to buy & they, used to, sell it at $1.88 for a $.50 profit.
Now they have to sell it at $1.90 for a $.52 profit to please the customer…or does the supplier have to change the item’s price to the store at $1.35 or $1.40?
In other words, WHAT happens to that $.02?
& what if the item is made overseas where THEY DO use the penny in their currency?
