How did this explode so fast?
There seems to be sooo many more of these individuals around now.
And they are so emboldened. School districts not being allowed to tell parents if their children are presenting as trans kids in school? How ridiculous.
We have a teacher in our district that is a man to woman transgender teaching elementary kids and now using the kids bathroom (girls because the teacher identifies as a she) across the hall. When students and parents have raised questions about that the teacher claims discrimination.
I am sympathetic toward individuals. This appeasement is already going too far though.

I have no idea what the percentage is but there are certainly some simply doing it for attention. Granted it may be small but that number certainly increases as it becomes somewhat mainstream.

People that used to be anonymous, small and unnoticed by society now have a platform = need for attention is fed.
More outrageous - more attention.
Hopefully, it will burn itself out like tattoos. They used to be counterculture and edgy. Now, they are so common, NOT having one is the "rebellious" thing.
