I work for a small oilfield service company. My boss is a good ole MAGA baw. Our company wont be forcing us to get vaccinated. My only concern are the O&G companies and drilling rig companies who may mandate the shot to be allowed on their location or rig

I too work for a federal contractor and I expect to receive mine today. My director sent me a screenshot of the CEO's preview message to the higher ups. Looks like I will be on the 1099 route for the foreseeable future because I will not get the jab and I have a new house, 2 kids in catholic school. The way I see it, the firm was already in a pickle due to the number of open positions and once the mandate is lifted I have a chance to go back at a higher compensation rate because they'll have so many openings they won't come close to filling.

Boeing employee here. I got the Mandate Wednesday. As an Army Combat Veteran...i no longer feel like a free American. This surely isn't what i signed up for.

Question for you-
If “feeding your family” is the carrot at the end of the stick, then what can’t the government take from someone?
The carrot can be lots of things when the government knows you’ll comply before taking a stand and losing something you already had.
Give us your guns or you can’t work, your kids can’t go to school and you aren’t allowed to own private property because you’re a public health risk….
And just wait til the government incentivizes programs that have citizens reporting on other citizens.
But hey, gotta feed the family ya know so please understand.
If “feeding your family” is the carrot at the end of the stick, then what can’t the government take from someone?
The carrot can be lots of things when the government knows you’ll comply before taking a stand and losing something you already had.

Also a federal subcontractor. Company hasn’t mandated it & doesn’t want to mandate it. But I was emailed yesterday by a fed contractor that in order to continue to do work for them, we would need to have all 200+ employees vax’d, despite only ~10 employees working onsite there. Also stated it doesn’t matter if they have or would ever work onsite there or if they work remote— still have to get jabbed. FWIW, I believe our owner (major MAGA guy) is considering dropping them as a client—despite us having a permanent crew there for 30 years.
This isn’t about public health/safety. Never was.

Massive French owned company checking in. They have facilities up and down the River. You know the name. They’ve asked for status with no follow up.
What they found out was that there were very concentrated unvaccinated areas of the company. Where they would lose 80% of their employees in certain areas if they mandated it and nobody complied. These are the workers, not the office folk. Without the workers, the office folks aren’t needed.
I intend to submit a medical exemption if it comes to it. Will not comply. My wife is employed and makes good money, she’s not affected by the mandate, we are paying the house off in 6 months, have saved very handsomely, and I already have a smaller firm ready to hire me.
