Marshals better be keeping a close eye on Judge Ellis and his family. After the hearing on Manafort, I would be very concerned for his safety.

The US Marshals? Dude what in the world are you talking about? The US Marshals are basically like the federal sheriff's department. They don't have shite to do with this stuff.

I mean fair enough but the FBI and the Marshals are both under the DOJ anyway and serve completely different functions so your idea just wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. Not trying to be a dick but it's just complete fantasy land.

You just fundamentally misunderstand what the US Marshals do and what their role is. That is what I am saying. Literally watch the movie US Marshals and you will be more educated than what you are right now on the US Marshals. Your idea is a bad idea.

So I’m guessing you think only one agency should handle domestic investigations?

If not, then who else, besides the marshals, would be best equiped to expand into that role?

Well . . .

If you don’t like the FBI, I guess you could create a new agency. But it’s odd to see a conservative arguing for governmental expansion.

Asking the marshalls to handle investigations is like asking the FAA to handle highways. It’s not what they do.

Since the Marshals come under the DOJ, then certainly they could be utilized. This assumes Jeff Sessions is smart enough to know they are within his Dept, however.

Also, their original mandate from the Judicial Act or Federal Judiciary Act or whatever it was called, makes them, perhaps, the best candidate to wreck shop at FBI and within DOJ. I wish there was a utility to make flow charts and diagrams for a post but...

Constitution - Art III > Judicial Branch - arbiter of constitutionality / legal questions at federal level

Judicial Act - created federal districts, USAG, US Marshals

Marshals - support judiciary with protection and enforcement actions

=> Marshals would intervene to help the courts uphold their obligations, in lieu of FBI and DOJ providing garbage FISA warrants and other bullshite they've been doing

I think these “investigators” from the FBI will eventually be investigaTED, and I don’t know how you can trust the FBI to investigate itself. The marshals should be the ones called on to go in and secure evidence from these compromised FBI agents.

I like the idea of using the US Marshall service to police the judiciary - align them with the OIG and let them be the enforcement arm of the DOJ.

Good idea. .
