I actually dislike Evan McMuffin far more than I dislike Mitt Romney. I feel like Mitt is saving us from an unbearably sanctimonious Senator McMuffin.

I remember when democrats attacked this weak arse bitch for being rich, out of touch, privileged, I actually tried to defend him by mentioning that as a Mormon he did a couple years of missionary work.
Then I learned that he did his missionary work in Paris.

Endorsing Romney is a mistake. Trump may need his vote, but on the issues critical to turning back the democrat agenda he won't get it. Beating Romney in Utah is doable, you just have to attack him from the right on moral issues during the primary hard enough to suppress Mormon turnout during the general.
Start with his handling of gay marriage during his days as governor.

It's not like he can sway the election. Romney is going to win with like 65% of the vote - maybe higher.

There are lots of better candidates than Romney. Utah SOH Greg Hughes, LG Spencer Cox, etc. Unfortunately, neither has an interest in joining the Swamp. But Romney is made for the Swamp. He loves it. He craves it.
And it could get better: Mittens’ son Josh Romney is widely believed to run for Utah Governor next election. So we could be seeing another political dynasty like the Kennedys, Bushes, and Clintons. Yay!

You are right about this. However given the fact that Utah supports such candidates just demonstrates the very high and sad level of cuckery in Utah.

Boy, Romney really accepted that poll result. He refused to let his political career die with dignity.

I think you are right about this.
Attack him from the right on RomenyCare too.
However, who is this candidate? Please don't say McMullen...he's worse than Romney.

Utah is super excited about Romney announcement as candidate for senator:

The cognitive dissonance in this thread from Trump supporters is hilarious!

i'm not sure you know what this means.
Pretty sure I do. But to be fair, let me specify what I mean:
1. Trumpkin opinion:"Trump is going to drain the swamp he is going to do it by not taking shite from anyone! He is the one to fight back!"
2. Trump endorses Romney
3. Cognitive dissonance sets in: "Trump is a pragmatic merciful god emperor and/or 11-D hyperspace underwater chess master."
There are one or two in this thread who basically said "I disagree with Trump on this one." Good for them; but that is rare.
I guess technically when I type cognitive dissonance I mean "rewriting mental scripts to deal with cognitive dissonance" but that is pretty bulky. So yeah, I mean the internal coping devices instead of the dissonance itself, but I still think that common usage agrees with me.
And let me say, this is hardly the first time I have noticed it from Trump supporters.

It's a tactical imperative for Trump, as he and Romney are diametrical opposites in personality, as well as in many policy initiatives. I feel Trump put the former Massachusetts governor on the horns of a dilemma.
A Trump endorsement of Romney is a kiss of death in Utah where the president is phenomenally unpopular (remember, this is Mia Love's home state).

unpopular in Utah? Relative to what?
Trump only received 45.5% of the vote in what is probably the reddest state in America. That's pretty dismal.

Correct answer! Romney held a presser to attack Trump during the 2016 election cycle, he’s not to be trusted.
