In another time, Tommy would be hailed as a national hero, back when the UK was the actual UK. Now, it’s simply a country under siege.

Did you even read the post?

I did read it. Says authorities are holding him based on some Terrorism Act legislation. Arent you a lawyer? Then you should know governments have been using terrorism legislation to overreach and overcharge people. That should not come as a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention for the last 20 years, not just lawyers.

Then again, if you voted for Trump, then the Dems consider you to not be just terrorists, but (ironically, given the actions of the Dems) fascist.

Well communists going back to the Spanish Revolution have referred to most of their political opponents as fascist in an attempt to lump them all together and discredit them, so take that for what you will next time you hear someone on the left call someone on the right a fascist.

They aren’t really exposing anyone on the right as fascist, because no one on the right you’ve ever heard of is actually a fascist.

They are potentially outing themselves as some shade of communist/marxist/anarchist.

Then when accused of being a communist they say “I’m absolutely not a communist!” Which in their mind is true because they view themselves as a “neo anarchist with leninist leanings” or something equally obscure.

Even if what your link says is true, i think people at a peaceful protest can watch a banned movie and still be peaceful.

This is his shtick. He doesn't really care if some guy is jailed because he screened a movie, he's just mad that the OP pointed it out hence his blizzard of left wing propaganda in this thread

There is no reporting, other than his twitter account, that this was used.

It appears some public order laws were used for police to deal with the protests (his were not the only ones going on at that time/place), but that's not applicable if he was arrested for contempt of court for an unrelated, non-protest, non-terror matter (showing the film).

Literally not what was said. You're relying on lies to make a point.

This is also a lie. The OP did not, in fact, point out that he was jailed b/c he screened a movie. They claimed he was arrested for TERRORISM.

Again, I have to ask: why do you have to rely on lies to try to make a point?

What is the point of shedding any intellectual honesty?

You know, every country on this planet enjoys free speech as long as it fits within the narrative of the government ruling over it. But, the only people who truly do enjoy real free speech are people who enjoy free speech that speaks against the ruling authority, and the number of countries enjoying that these days has dwindled down to a literal handful, and they are in very real danger of losing that.

When that evaporates, you are without question NO LONGER a free people. FACT.

I mean, you can claim it, even wrap yourself in the flag as you claim it, but it doesn’t translate into actual freedom for you.

I’m confused because it’s not even clear that he’s been arrested. You, unlike everyone reporting on the story, are sure what he couldn’t be arrested for.

I'm pretty confident in what he was NOT arrested for, to be precise.
