flat tax. no exemptions including exemptions for relgions of any kind.
If this were to happen it should be on dollars earned outside of the original donation. My money is already taxed and if I choose to donate to a church, then I expect all of it be used towards church issues, programs, buildings, etc. no way does the government have a right to tax it twice.

You can just call him jjdoc... don’t have to be all PC about it.

Yeah, I’m sure your arrogant tone in doing so has nothing to do with that.

My first post is ALWAYS pretty neutral and objective, but then someone with no knowledge or experience insists that I am lying or misrepresenting or something. I probably DO bow-up somewhat at that point.

A government where people choose their own services and pay for only those things they use. Where every law is up for repeal and taxes are voluntary.

Fair enough. You’re honest, I’ll give you that.

For the most part I th8nk most people want the same things....the devil is in the details. There are just as many nuts on the left as the right who want all sorts of heinous shite.....but most of us want to live our lives with some security and freedom, we want our kids to have more opportunities than we did and we want to have some dignity in life.
I want people to have a real shot to earn a living wage. I think we should make it nearly impossible for able bodied people to live on the dole. I sincerely think that most people would much prefer gainful employment that meets their needs financially than to take a handout.....but I also think that an employer who doesn’t pay a living wage is relying on the rest of us to make up the shortfall.
I’d like for us to stop one or the other of these two things: subsidizing the markets of the world or pretending that there is a free market. We have done both since the end of WW2 and the middle class in this country has seen stagnant wages and a lot of financial stress, including the need for 2 paychecks, for at least half of that time period....I think this is the biggest issue we face as a nation.

I get that....but for me, I love Trump because he is effing up everybody’s sandbox.
Dems. Republicans, media, all hate him....
He must be doing something right.
And if you look at your list above...he is right there with you.
He was accused of being a liberal during the election.

I give it a try (although I'm not a pure leftist)
Alimony should be abolished. There is no reason for a grown adult to be tied financially to their former partner. Split the assets and live your own lives.
I have posted numerous times about work programs and starter jobs that need to be tied into welfare. Even some basic job skills classes required for X amount of welfare. Restrictions for getting funds after Y amount of kids. All fall on dead ears here.
I feel drugs should be decriminalized (particularly MJ). Too many people filling our jails for victimless crimes. I know we can't overturn all cases, but I know we can lower the incarceration rates by replacing some of the sentences with fines or involuntary community service projects.
Don't make education free, but this college bubble scheme has to end. The rates of tuition NEED a market correction.
I think we need a better vetting system for rape accusations. The rate of false rape accusations is absurd. We need to punish those who commit this terrible crime. However no one should be subjected to loss of employment or public degradation without proper due process of law.
As for race or other forms of discrimination claims, they should be processed at the same level of severity as rape claims. I'll add that false claims should have a punishment system as well based on the severity of the case.
As long as a historical or religious statue is on privately owned property, I'm okay with it. There are certain cases where public displays could be ok, but that's a longer debate.
Let the Europeans and every other country who thinks they know so much more than the US defend their own borders. I understand why we are the world's guardian angel, but at this point we are being abused.
I have a few more ideas with regards to censorship in film and other media, but I'll save it for when you care to discuss.
If that makes me a leftie, well I guess that's what you'll have to call me.

So an act of physical violence should be treated the same as someone not hiring a white person because they are white?

He championed a tax cut that I described as moronic populism, and I have seen no sign of support for my ideas on a guest worker program. Both seem directly at odds. Hence my assessment that I agree with him about 85% of the time on policy issues.
Edit: I have always been a fan of the Rohirrim. What is the story on your username?

I think most would be in favor of a guest worker program.
Still need border security....
Hell......it’s just common sense stuff.
And if any of us agree on 85% of issues ( other than some issues that we cannot compromise on) we are getting along pretty well
You are obviously a very intelligent person.
And you have common sense.
Too many people have no common sense.

This, in a nutshell, reflects what the root of the problem with the country is. Its never really been about party. The past few decades have really just been running around this issue.

Because god put these animals on earth for me to consume, and who is the government to make rules for me to follow? I do believe in bag limits and think most people would fish the rivers dry and kill everything with fur if they could, but I’m not one of those people. I kill and catch enough for my family to eat and keep some in the freezer for hard times.
