I am not even a very religious person but teaching the Ten Commandments cannot hurt any child in their developmental years. The basic fundamentals in the 10C's in fact teaches moral responsibility, value of life and love not hate.

A "certain percentage" of the blame for the society lack of respect goes to liberalism that forced religion principles and patriotism out of public schools. Fact.

YouTube actually removed a Dennis Prager video discussing the Ten Commandments because he said the word "murder" in it.

What was the context of the word? He was talking about the commandment that says "do not murder".

Yep, got to get back to group/family values, and religion is a good start. Striving to be a better person, a part of something bigger, will cut into the narcissism

You are so correct, sadly the majority of our country has turned their back on God.

You cannot choose one religion, even the majority's religion, to be endorsed and taught by public schools. That's a violation of the US Constitution.

But you can teach love, respect, truthtelling, and honesty in public schools. Our Christian churches should be teaching the Ten Commandments and Jesus's teachings. Why would anyone want Christianity to be taught by public school teachers? That makes no sense.

I think the moral message is important, but more than that, it’s the sense of community you get. Having people that watch out for you, and care for you.

Teachers too busy trying to take selfies and bed their students.

When I went to school in the 60's, we had to memorize the 10 Commandments in the 5th grade, had to stand up and repeat them in front of the class. Things were better then for sure.

Somehow forcing citizens to attend a Catholic mass in public schools mighy not be the best idea.

Do they get disciplined for not taking the eucharist, or blaspheming the pope?

These make more sense. But come from the other side.

Don't confuse Christianity with Catholicism. One is God's redemptive plan for mankind, the other is a complicated, unbiblical, ritualistic set of ideals that have no power to save.

100% true, you can't promote religion in public schools especially if it's one specific religion. Yall want to claim to be small government conservatives but then pull shite like this

Bring Christianity back to schools but ignore all the murder and violence perpetrated and condoned by God in the old testament.

You forget the church stands with Trump's antics. Secondly, religion has no more influence on these kids. Especially not the types of kids that commit these crimes.

They voices of powerful and insane leaders are far more enticing than a blue-eyed peacemaker.

If one mass shooting would be prevented by a kid learning "Thou Shall Not Kill"...then its worth it.

Yeah. Forcing Christianity down people's throats is the answer.

Idiot.

Let's also enact laws that make it illegal to work on Sundays

Idiot.

What are the odds that this shooter knew of the 10 commandments and that murder is wrong?

Pretty high i suspect.
