More than 200 demonstrations against the so-called coronavirus health pass have been scheduled for Saturday across France. In Paris alone thousands of people joined rallies against what they call a violation of people’s rights.
Massive crowds flooded the streets of the French capital on Saturday. Several thousand demonstrators marched through the Boulevard Saint-Marcel in the southeastern part of the city toward the Place de la Bastille.

WWII was due to a mix of poor leadership and shell shock from what WWI did to the country.
As several of my professors put it, the best of the French died between 1914 and 1918. And they had no stomach to repeat that when the Germans outsmarted their generals in 1940. (
French generals were still using WWI mentalities with regards to planning and logistics while Germans were a lot better at it due to embracing tanks, trucks, etc.
The French saw the Germans at a bridge and thought “They aren’t going anywhere for a week” and decided not to attack. German logistics were able to get that same army moving again within a day.

The French did hold long enough to allow the Dunkirk evacuation to happen. They were outnumbered, out gunned, out generalled, and had no chance of escaping, yet held off the Germans long enough for that miracle to happen.
I call that guts and courage.

quote:one of the docs ihave watched showed this to where the germans had basically a traffic jam with most of their equipment and if the french sent bombers there to attack, the war would have never escalated to where it was because the german army was a sitting duck right there.

They weren’t outgunned, they actually had more artillery and tanks than the Germans. They just used it in support roles instead of having entire units of it like the Germans.
The Germans were also using radio communication to coordinate movements while the French were still using voice or phone.
If you aren’t organized enough to act quickly when your opponent is making a mistake, you’re fricked.
Even if they had bombers and strafing runs sent out to that traffic jam mentioned in the other post, I doubt they could have had it out there in time to take advantage of the situation because they were crawling along in comparison to the Germans.

I watched a show last night on the spies of WW1. Apparently, the network the British used to fight the Germans was very extensive. However, in a stupid move, to celebrate those who helped them during the operation, they published the names of many of the agents in a newspaper. These were common folk that didn't flee the german advance, they stayed to help feed info to the Brits. Some received training, some didn't. So, when the Third Reich fired up for the start of WW2, the new Germans already had the names of anyone still alive that assisted in WW1. They were rounded up and executed.
