The "Christian Right" are great folks and great to have on your side. It is the "Purity Test" issue that triggers them into causing problems.

We have seen the Purity Test Problem in action here on PT. We have a person who is here, not to talk politics or policy, but, by his own admission, he is here to Preach about his own small off shoot of Presbyterianism.

This person has a Purity Test Problem - he declares that he will not vote for Trump because Trump is not a good enough Christian.

So, he and millions of others on the Christian Right will sit this one out and not vote for Trump. This will help Harris win, but, for the Purity Test people, this doesn't concern them.

So, yes, the Christian Right folks are great folks, but, they do have their flaws and, if they had their way the USA would be a Protestant Theocracy and not a Constitutional Republic. But let me hasten to add - in the Olden Days of hundreds of years ago, the Roman Catholic Church leaders would not at all minded ruling over a Catholic Theocracy. My point is that very religious people don't make the best policy in all cases because they have these flaws of Theocracy, but, they are very solid citizens notwithstanding.

More people need to know. Scofield was a crook and a bullshite artist. These southern preachers spew his zionist bullshite way too much.

In the grand scheme of things, they're the least of my worries.

I'm a hell of a lot more worried about the Atheist Left than I am about the Christian Right

I think you meant Satanic Cultural Marxists.

Real Christian thing to do.

His ability to restrain his natural instincts really was the real Christian in him.

Then why are you trying to knight for southern conservative christians?

You dont act like one. So why do you care if somebody speaks against them? Sounds like you identify as something that you arent really. That will cause cognitive dissonance, and that's probably why you feel drawn to violence.

"Somebody said something i dont like and i wanted to punch them, but i didnt." And that's what you call an example of being a christian. Seems like a pretty low bar.

The 1950s seems to hold the idea of what the majority of the current Christian Right reminisce about. Let's say our peak era was in the 1950s-90s that Christian Right would use as a time to take goods from and drop some really bad evils, like abortion, etc, that started us down the current negative road post 2k.

Was that time frame an anti-Constitional Republic Protestant Theocracy period in our nation?

Natural instinct has a low bar. His Christian values brought his bar up and kept his natural instincts in check.

This is false and I’ve explained why. You are engaging in slander at this point by knowingly saying something false about someone else.

Hmmmm. Sounds good. I'm not sure how profoundly true that is. The struggles of Catholics living in Bethlehem and other places in Israel contradict your conclusion.

That premise makes no sense. You think abortion debate started post-2000? You think the conservative right was leading the way in the 60s-70s-80s?

How old are you?

The Christian right would be fine so long as they focused on themselves living a Christian life and didn't think everyone else needs to. Those who think church and politics mix are a danger to our country and our freedom from someone else's religion ruling our lives.

Did anyone mention you by name in this thread? No.

The Purity Test Problem is real. That's why Louisiana got John Bel Edwards, Democrat, for Governor.

If you consider criticism and refutation of your positions as slander, maybe Political Talk is not the proper forum for you to preach to us.

I agree because 1) many of them would like to establish a Theocracy based on the Scofield Bible and 2) they will apply a Purity Test to all political candidates and if that candidate is not "Pro-Christ", they won't vote for that person. That's how Louisiana got a Democrat Governor for 8 years named John Bel Edwards. He ran as the "Governor Honor Code" candidate against his GOP opponent and won because too many voters in La. applied the Purity Test to Edwards' opponent.
